The Austin outpost of a restaurant family that began in Erode, Tamil Nadu, in 1960, Kuppanna specializes in Kongu Nadu cooking. Flaky parotta with salna or kongu mutton gravy is the signature order, alongside podi idli, Pallipalayam chicken and Kongu-style mutton biryani. Wednesday nights bring a bottomless dosa special at its Research Boulevard location in northwest Austin.
